When I started on the George Foreman GRP4 review I did not expect to find so many people that bought this grill and took the time to write about it. This made it easier for me to find a ton of information for this review. I also think after all the reading and writing that it is slightly under rated. You can read my findings, pros and cons and more in this review.

Grill surface and temperature

The grill surface is one of the most important thing to know this decides if the grill is large enough for the purpose you are going to use it for. Most electric grills like the GRP4 from George Foreman are used to grill healthy meat and that is why they do not need to be very large.

This GRP4 has a grill surface of 72 square inches and this is enough for 3 or 4 hamburgers of medium size .
The amount of heat has to be in proportion with the grill surface and the 1000 Watts that this “little” grill comes with it enough power to make it pretty hot.

The grill surface is made of non-stick removable plates that are dishwasher safe and easy to clean.

Cleaning

The grill surface is easy to clean like all non-stick surfaces usually are. The removable plates can be hand washed or placed in the dishwasher with the drip tray and the spatula that comes with the grill.

There are consumer websites that recommend to hand wash non stick plates like in this George Foreman grill because according to them the detergent in combination with the force of the water can damage the non stick surface and that is not healthy.

Features of the George Foreman GRP1060B

The 1000 Watts is embedded in the grill surface and is powerful enough to heat this grill to a temperature that is hot enough to grill all kind of types of food. 1000 Watts is 1 kilowatt and with an average of 12 cent per kilowatt this grill will cost you 12 cents per hour to run. compare that to the broiler in your oven and you see that this is very cheap.

There is no temperature controller or on/off switch. Just plug it in and wait for it to warm up and it is ready to go.
No worrying about picking the right setting or watching lights to go on and off. Pretty straightforward to use.

The grill surface is 72 square inches and is about 6 inches by 12 inches.
This also makes the grill not so large that it does not fit under your kitchen cabinets.

The removable plates are having the signature ribs that all GF grills have. This enables the grease to run of the plates into the grease drip tray.

The drip tray can be removed for easy cleaning and can be washed in the dishwasher.
The sloped design of the grill makes the grease run of the plates even faster and prevents the grease from building up under the meat in the lower part of the ribbed grill surface. A big plus compared to grills that are more level.

First time use can give some strange smelling smoke but this is just the burning of the excess coating sprayed on the griddles. This is perfectly normal for most indoor electric grills.

The so called floating hinges will let the grill adjust to the height of your meat or sandwich automatically. This will give an even heat on both sides of the meat you cook for even cooking. Try to use even thick cuts of meat to make sure this feature will work for you.

Like with any item you purchase we recommend to use it as fast as you can to avoid warranty issues. Remember that you only have so much time to return it if something is wrong or you do not like it.

Customer reviews of the George Foreman GRP1060B

After reading a lot of information and opinions about the GF grp4 I have to say that it is my opinion that it is a little under rated compared to what I found on many Websites and forums. We found about 82% of the users gave it a 4 and 5 star rating and about 8% a 3 star and on average that is still pretty good.
That is why you can find our rating a little higher than we have found on average. I have found literally thousands of people who bought this grill and that should show already that it is an OK grill.

Our Rating: 4.4
