Kenyon B70090 Frontier Portable Grill

The Kenyon B70090 Frontier portable stainless steel electric grill review shows that this 120 Volts grill is capable of cooking some great food.

The price might be a little steep but the saying is that you get what you pay for in most cases. This all-season indoor outdoor electric grill is no exception to that rule.

Here you can find all I researched and found out about this grill.

Grill surface of the name grill

To find out if this Kenyon grill fits your needs you need to know the size of the grill surface of course. 155 square inches is the total available grill surface. The average rule is that you need about 70 square inches per person to cook a full meal including veggies. This makes it suitable for 2 people in that case. Most of the time we use the grill to cook just our meat and then it provides enough room for several burgers, steaks, chicken, or seafood dishes.

Material of the grate

The grate is double-coated with non-stick material and right underneath the grill surface is the heating element placed in an almost concealed way. Close to the grill surface means better heat and elimination of the annoying flare-ups.

Features of this grill

  • Marine grade 304 stainless steel
  • Virtually smokeless grilling
  • Double coated grill surface
  • Auto shut-off after 60 or 90 minutes
  • Build in GFCI breaker
  • Rectangular lid

Customer Reviews

“Since this grill does not need ventilation & is UL listed for both indoor & outdoor use, it’s perfect for my needs. The drip tray doubles as a steamer. You must fill it with water or you will get smoke while grilling. This is not a downside in the least. Everything I’ve cooked, from hamburgers to pork to chicken has been cooked through quickly. None of the meat burns, nor is it dry. Everything is juicy & flavorful. It also cooks much faster than my Kamado Acorn grill, which is the best I’ve ever used. That’s saying a lot. I’ve cooked about 12 chicken cutlets at once & each were cooked evenly & finished at the same time. The uniformity of heat on this grill is amazing….”

“The first night we fired it up, we grilled some brats with a little summer ale in the lower tray. One of the best features is the ability to flavor the meat you’re cooking by simply adding a few ounces of beer, wine, or anything else you can think of. Grilling was as easy setting the temperature and throwing on the meat. A couple of rotations of the brats later, they were done and tasted much better than I was expecting and was blown away by how well the summer ale transferred into the meat. After dinner, the clean up was painless. The lid and grate both pop off to either be cleaned in the sink or put in the dishwasher and the lower tray can either be rinsed or thrown out….(read more here: Find more here)”

Kenyon B70090 Frontier grill – My Opinion

If we look at the features like 15 square inches and 1300 watts in combination with the marine grade 304 stainless steel and the weight of only 24 pounds we think that these are some great features for a portable electric grill that can be used in a variety of situations like indoors, outdoor, on a boat, in an RV.

If you like the built-in version you can look at the Kenyon B70050 Frontier review we did. Same grill but for building it into an outdoor kitchen.

The 1300 watts at first seem a little lightweight for this type of grill since we found this wattage also in some of the indoor grills and griddles we reviewed in that category. What we found is that the heating element is so close to the grill surface that there is basically no loss of heat and this makes the 1300 watts more than enough to raise the grill temperature to almost 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

For the campers, RV’ers and boaters the total size of the grill is 21 x 12 x 8.5 inches and this will not eat up too much storage room in my opinion. The carrying handles make it easy to move the grill even when it is still a little hot.

The fact that this is an electric grill that can be used indoors makes it also an option for places like condos or many apartment buildings where the use of any propane or charcoal grill is not permitted.

The touch screen is easy to read and easy to use and you can use it to set the grill to turn of automatically after 60 or 90 minutes.

Cleaning is very easy with just a damp cloth but you can use the dishwasher for the grill grate if you like.

The drip tray can be used to add some liquids that will add more flavor to your meat and I read that this works pretty well.

Overall we can recommend the Kenyon Frontier all-season electric grill as a good buy. Price is steep but like I mentioned you get what you pay for. You can also have a look at the other Kenyan grills we reviewed.

Kenyon double coated non stick griddle

Kenyon B96000 Double Coated Non-Stick Griddle

Made of cast aluminum and double-coated with medical-grade nonstick coating for durability.
Great for cooking breakfast in the morning. This griddle is PTFE and BPOA free and can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
A little high in price but this is the first time I see a medical-grade griddle and this is, of course, a griddle that will last a long time.
